What to know

Before you fly to Las Vegas.

Harry Reid International (LAS) is the default. Private aircraft use the FBOs on the airport's west side, a short drive to the Strip, away from the commercial terminals. Henderson Executive (HND), about 20 minutes south of the Strip, is quieter and often quicker in and out — a good choice if you are staying at the south end of the Strip, in Henderson, or simply want to avoid the airline traffic at LAS.

Demand spikes around fight nights, CES in January, the Grand Prix in November, big conventions and holiday weekends. On those dates aircraft and ramp space go early, prices rise and large events can bring special arrival reservation programs — book as soon as your dates are firm. In summer Las Vegas regularly passes 110°F; heat reduces what some aircraft can carry, so your advisor checks performance against your group and bags.

FAQ

Los Angeles to Las Vegas: questions

How long is a private flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas?

About 50 minutes in a jet and a little over an hour in a turboprop, gate to gate from Van Nuys. With no terminal lines, you can arrive at the FBO 15–20 minutes before departure.

Should I fly into Las Vegas (LAS) or Henderson (HND)?

LAS is closest to the center of the Strip. Henderson Executive is quieter and often faster on event weekends, and closer to the south end of the Strip and Henderson. Your advisor suggests the better fit for where you are staying and when you land.

Can I fly to Vegas and back the same day?

Yes. The aircraft and crew can wait for you, and your estimate becomes a round trip. If you stay overnight, crew expenses may apply — your advisor shows you both options so you can compare.
