What to know

Before you fly to Cabo San Lucas.

Every passenger needs a valid passport. Mexican immigration and customs are handled at the private terminal on arrival, and Mexico's entry fees and taxes are included in your final price. On the way home the aircraft must clear US Customs at an airport with a customs facility — several in Los Angeles have one, so most trips fly straight back. The operator files the passenger manifest in advance, which is why we ask for full passport details a few days before departure.

Los Cabos International (SJD) in San José del Cabo is the main airport, with dedicated private terminals — 25 to 40 minutes to the Corridor resorts and about 45 minutes to Cabo San Lucas. Cabo San Lucas International (CSL) is a smaller airport closer to town; its hours and services are more limited, so your advisor confirms it works for your arrival time and aircraft. Thanksgiving, the holidays and spring break are the busiest weeks — book early.
