A business jet climbing through warm evening cloud
Empty legs

The same aircraft, up to 75% less.

When a jet flies empty to collect passengers or return home, the operator often sells that seat-free flight at a steep discount.

What an empty leg is

Every one-way charter leaves an aircraft somewhere it doesn’t want to be. Flying it home — or to its next trip — with nobody on board is an “empty leg”, and operators would rather sell it than fly it empty.

Why it costs less

The flight is already paid for by the original trip, so the operator can price it far below a normal charter — often 40–75% less, depending on how close to departure it is.

The trade-off

The aircraft, route and date are fixed, and times can move if the original trip changes. Empty legs suit flexible travelers; if your plans are firm, a regular charter is the safer choice.
